ABOUT THE SHOW

IS THIS SERIOUS?

Yes. Church of Modern Life is comedy, but it isn’t a joke - the shows are both funny and sincerely spiritual. There’s a human desire for connection and understanding, and we believe in achieving that without taking ourselves too seriously.

I BELIEVE IN ANOTHER RELIGION. CAN I COME?

Yes. We are non-denominational and non-discriminatory. We explicitly aim for genuine spiritual experience without any meta-physical dogma.

I am atheist. Can I come?

Yes. The services of Church of Modern Life are apatheistic - meaning we don’t appeal to a belief or non-belief of God, the afterlife, re-incarnation, or any kind of metaphysics. The shows are grounded in the human experience of modern life.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SHOW?

Cross a religious service, group therapy and an improv show. Chanting, scenes, and sharing emotions. You can participate by sharing your own joys and pains, empathising with others, or simply sit, watch and laugh.

WHERE CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SHOW?

Read Amit’s blog post announcing the first run of four shows. Amit and Craig were interviewed by Pam Benjamnin on Mutiny Radio’s Podcast Some Call Me Tim?
